Terms of Use

These terms explain what this site is for, what you can expect from the information it publishes and what you cannot. By using the site, you accept them. If anything here is unclear, please call the Mission and we will gladly explain it.

1. What this site is for

This is the site of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission, 304 FM 235, Jacksonville, Texas 75766, a mission of Our Lady of Sorrows parish in the Diocese of Tyler. It exists so that anyone looking for a Mass in Spanish, a baptism, a quinceanera or a funeral can find how to get here and whom to call.

2. Accuracy of information

This is the most important section in the whole document, so please read it even if you read nothing else.

This site is built on a rule that is not broken: information the Mission has not confirmed is NOT published. Where the information is missing, the page does not put up a guess or something copied from another parish: it puts up the phone number. If you see a phone number on a page instead of a schedule or a list of requirements, that is not an oversight, it is the rule working.

Even so, schedules change, dates move and people are reassigned. Before driving to the chapel, and always before arranging a baptism, a wedding, a quinceanera or a funeral, please confirm by phone with the Mission or the parish office. The phone call takes precedence over anything this page says.

3. Religious content

What this site explains about the Catholic faith and the sacraments is for informational and pastoral purposes. It does not replace sacramental preparation, spiritual direction or speaking with a priest. For what truly matters in your life, talk to a person.

4. Text and images

The text and photographs on this site belong to their respective owners and may not be reproduced commercially without permission. You may, of course, share a link, print a page for your own use or send it to a relative: that is what it is for.

The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is an object of devotion, not a graphic asset. We ask that you not crop it, not place text or filters over it, and not use it as a background, logo or avatar.

5. What you send us

When writing to us through the contact form or sending a prayer request, we ask that the information be truthful and the content respectful. Please do not send offensive, threatening or misleading messages, or another person's personal information without their permission.

The form does not trigger any automatic alert. If your matter is urgent, please call.

6. Links to other sites

This site links to Our Lady of Sorrows parish, the Diocese of Tyler and mapping services. We do not control those pages and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

7. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the site always available, but we cannot guarantee it: the connection, the server or the page itself may fail. To the extent permitted by law, neither the Mission, nor Our Lady of Sorrows parish, nor the Diocese of Tyler, nor their clergy, employees or volunteers are liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, this site.

8. Changes and governing law

These terms may be updated; the version published here is the one in force. They are interpreted under the laws of the State of Texas and applicable federal law, without prejudice to the norms of the Church and of the Diocese of Tyler in matters proper to them.
