Is this your first time here?
You don't need to call ahead or register to come to Mass: arrive a little early, sit wherever you like, and join us. If you're bringing small children, don't worry about the noise — they belong here. Afterwards we'll gladly help you with baptisms, faith formation or anything else.

The year at the Mission
Our year is marked by the feasts this community brought with them and celebrates here in East Texas.
December 12
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
The Mission's own feast. Las mañanitas are sung before dawn, the matachines dance, and the solemn Mass is celebrated.
December 16–24
Las Posadas
Nine nights remembering Mary and Joseph looking for shelter. House to house with candles, singing and ponche.
February 2
Candlemas
The Child Jesus is presented and candles are blessed. Whoever found the figure in the rosca brings the tamales.
Ash Wednesday and Lent
Lent
Forty days of conversion. Ashes are imposed and the Stations of the Cross are prayed on Fridays.
Holy Week
Holy Week
Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday with the living Stations, and the Easter Vigil, the most important night of the year.
November 2
All Souls' Day
We remember those who went before us. Flowers are brought, photographs are set out, and Mass is offered for them.

Our Lady of Guadalupe
Our Mission bears the name of the Virgin who appeared to Saint Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill in December 1531 and left her image on his tilma. She is the patroness of Mexico and of all the Americas.
Ways to take part
The Mission is held up by its people: the choir, the catechists, the Guadalupanas, those who prepare the altar.
